Music has been an important part of my life since about 1963 when my mother decided that buying me a guitar would be a good way to keep me off the streets and out of trouble. Since I grew up in West Tennessee and spent much of my adult life in Kentucky, I was surrounded by the musical influences of classic country, rockabilly, bluegrass, folk, and delta blues. — what many call American “Roots” Music. I’ve had the privilege of playing in several groups over the years in a variety of venues, and through the music I’ve made many lifelong friends. From 2008 thru 2014 we lived and played in the tidewater Virginia area with a group called the WPSD Radio Rangers<\/em> [WPSD = “We Play Something Different!”] We presented our shows in the format of an old-time radio show complete with the old-school commercials and music. Living now in Florida, my wife and I still play for some local venues as The High Road Ramblers<\/em> featuring the genres described above. I play guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, dobro, and a little fiddle. My wife plays the upright (Doghouse) bass and the autoharp. We often invite guest musicians to join us in our shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
